Sydney Swans win blockbuster draw for 2018

The Sydney Swans' remarkable turn around on the field in season 2017, as well as the continued growth of the club off the field, has seen them win out in a colossal blockbuster draw.

The Swans faithful in Melbourne will enjoy an even better fixture than 2017, with the Swans playing 8 games in Victoria.

The Victorian fans will have to wait four weeks to see first away match in Melbourne, against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday, April 14th, at 4.35pm.

After that, the Swans play their next two away games at Kardina Park, now GMHBA Stadium, and the MCG against the Hawks.

The Swans will have to wait until Round 14 for their bye, playing a very long and hard first half of the season, but from there it's all down hill.

Headlining the season, the Swans will play an astounding 12 night matches throughout the season, consisting of 2 lucrative Thursday night matches, 5 Friday night and 5 Saturday night matches.

The first Sydney Derby of the year will be hosted by the Swans in Round 3 at the SCG, while the Giants will host the second in Round 22 at Spotless Stadium.

After the Swans kick off their season with a road trip to the new Perth Stadium, they face an incredibly challenging draw playing Port Adelaide (H), the Giants (H), the Dogs (A), the Crows (H), the Cats (A) before finally playing the Hawks (A) at the MCG.

The Swans round out their difficult first half draw with a home match against the Eagles on Friday night in Round 13, before enjoying the week off.

The second half of the draw is far kinder, with an away match to Richmond at Etihad of all places, a home match against the Cats, before rounding out the season with an away match to the Demons, away match to the Giants and a home match against the Hawks, date and time to be determined, but we're guessing it's another Thursday or Friday night match.
