Teams: Sydney Swans vs Western Bulldogs, Round 4, 2018

The Sydney Swans have rung in the changes ahead of their round 4 clash against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at Etihad Stadium.

The Swans have made three changes to the side that beat the Giants in round 3, with Aliir Aliir, fit-again speedster Zak Jones and Nic Newman returning to the side.

Defender Aliir Aliir is set to make his first appearance since round 4 last season, while defenders Nic Newman and Zak Jones return to the side after missing the Port Adelaide and GWS matches.

Coach John Longmire said the returning players were ready to go.

“Zak had a really strong week at training,” Longmire said.

“He’s done everything he’s needed to do and we look forward to getting him back in the team.

“Nic’s played a lot of senior footy for us and is a quality senior player and we look forward to his return.

“We looked at what Aliir had done. We went into his program and believe he is ready to return now and look forward to him taking his chance.”

Forward Sam Reid will miss the game and an estimated eight weeks with a quadricep injury, while defender Lewis Melican will miss at least two weeks with a minor hamstring strain.

Forward Gary Rohan will miss the Bulldogs clash due to personal reasons.
