Preview: Swans vs Roos JLT Series opener

The Swans are kicking off their JLT Series opener against the Roos this afternoon in Coffs Harbour. It's their first official pre-season match, with many rookie and drafted players making their debuts. Josh Kennedy will be leading the club in his first match as Captain.

While both teams have notable absentees, the Swans are without former co-captains McVeigh, K. Jack, Franklin, as well as Rampe, Grundy, Aliir, Laidler and Lloyd. Lloyd will join Tyrone Leonardis and Ben Ronke as emergencies.

Rohan and Johnson were ruled out during the week and placed on the long term injury list, available for selection from round 4. They will not play a part in the Swans pre-season fixtures.

No doubt all eyes will be on the new kids and those coming off the rookie list last season, as they put their case forward for selection in 2017.
