Right to it then. These ratings are brought to you stat-less, from our observations at the game and nothing more.
B: Nick Smith, Heath Grundy, Callum Mills
HB: Jarrad McVeigh, Dane Rampe, Zak Jones
C: Isaac Heeney, Josh P. Kennedy, Jake Lloyd
HF: Gary Rohan, Lance Franklin, Tom Papley
F: Kieren Jack, Callum Sinclair, Sam Reid
FOL: Sam Naismith, Dan Hannebery, Luke Parker
I/C: Harry Cunningham, Dean Towers, Nic Newman, George Hewett
40: Nick Smith | He did OK defensively, wasn't beaten too much, just no good with ball in hand
39: Heath Grundy | Caught out of position way too often and largely absent in defence
14: Callum Mills | Almost zero impact on the game when it was still in the balance
3: Jarrad McVeigh | Did OK throughout
24: Dane Rampe | Had a shocker. Easily beaten and gave away a stack of frees.
10: Zak Jones | One of the best on the night, kept smashing in regardless of the score.
5: Isaac Heeney | Apart from a good 3rd quarter was very poor.
12: Josh Kennedy | Looked quite tired and couldn't find a way into the game. Blicavs flogged him.
44: Jake Lloyd | He's really good at the 25-30m passes, not the 45-50m bomb and hopes.
16: Gary Rohan | He had a really great moment in the 2nd quarter when he took on half the Geelong team on a run down the wing. Just a shame none of his team mates bothered to help him out.
23: Lance Franklin | Another big game passed him by.
41: Tom Papley | Looks injured, played injured, even copped a big rib crunching hit
15: Kieren Jack | Great first half but faded in the second.
18: Callum Sinclair | It's really hard to be scathing on this guy, but didn't have any impact at all. Delivery into the forward line was as bad as it gets and he had no chance against a spare.
20: Sam Reid | Shocking in the forward line and even worse in defence. Not sure what he was doing in the 2nd half, couldn't pick the ball up to save himself.
7: Harry Cunningham | For a task oriented player, I'd like to know what his task was
22: Dean Towers | Can never fault this guy for trying but even he looked tired after chasing his marker for 120 minutes straight.
28: Nic Newman | Well beaten on the night by his opponent.
29: George Hewett | Smashed to pieces by Duncan and Scott Selwood.
4: Dan Hannebery | Did OK. Got a lot of the ball. Butchered it like all his other team mates. Beaten by his opponent regularly.
26: Luke Parker | This won't be one for the highlight reels, that's for sure.
35: Sam Naismith | Got the hit outs, got smashed in every other part of the game and ground. |
Bonus rating: That muppet Nicholls shouldn't ever umpire AFL again, but here's hoping that drunk clown doesn't get a gig next week after somehow screwing up the unscrewable. The game wasn't about you.
Can't win them all.
