The long winded rumour for former Sydney Swans coach Josh Francou has finally been confirmed today, moving to Adelaide Crows as an assistant under Don Pyke.
With reports yesterday suggesting the deal was close to done, Francou has long been touted to leave the Sydney Swans in their post-season shake up.
The Swans have already announced Rhyce Shaw and Steve Johnson as new coaches, while Henry Playfair has already left the club for St Kilda.
The Swans today confirmed his departure, with Swans Head of Football Tom Harley thanking him for his service.
“Josh has been a wonderful person to have at our football club and we hold him in very high regard,” Harley said.
“His wealth of knowledge and experience has been immensely valuable to our playing group, so on behalf of everyone at the Swans I would like to thank Josh for his service and wish him all the very best for the future.”
Thank you Josh for your loyal service over the last four seasons, including stints as midfield assistant coach and development coach.
