Swans take on Giants in second pre-season hit out

The Sydney Swans take on the Giants for the second time in three pre-season matches, traveling to Blacktown International Sportspark boasting a plethora of senior players.

Zak Jones has been selected for his first pre-season hit out, joining fellow midfielder Dan Robinson in the 26-man squad, coming in for the injured duo Callum Sinclair and Aliir Aliir.

The pair suffered ankle injuries in last weekend's win against the Brisbane Lions in their first JLT pre-season match.

The 22-year-old gets his first chance of the pre-season at Blacktown International, adding grunt to a midfield already boasting the likes of Luke Parker, Kieren Jack and Josh Kennedy.

The dashing player is a timely addition as the squad prepares to go up against a strong and tall Giants outfit, having recovered from a knee injury and missing AFLX and JLT 1.

Darcy Cameron, a late call-up last week against the Lions in JLT1, will shoulder the ruck load in Callum Sinclairs' absence, and given the ruck injury crisis, will play a significant role throughout the season.

The Giants are playing tall, picking their two tallest rucks in Simpson and Keefe, and will look to exploit the undersized Swans at every chance.

Brett Deledio and Toby Greene will play their first games of the pre-season, with Greene coming off a toe injury, while Deledio's training has been carefully managed.

Tom McCartin, Jordan Foote, Colin O'Riordan and Ben Ronke have been named as emergencies.

The Swans and Giants NEAFL teams will play a curtain raiser at 4.25pm, before the senior sides face off at 7.40pm.
