Player ratings: Sydney Swans vs Western Bulldogs, Round 1, 2019

Almost every little kid dreams of being a super hero when they grow up. It's why they beg for the superman outfit, dress like Spiderman, dream of being Tony Stark for a day, or throw Thor's hammer.

The Swans on Saturday night copped a hammering at the hands of the Bulldogs in the first-half, in what can only be described as deplorable. Bulldogs looked great while the Swans looked like they hadn't even touched a football since September.

Not even a spirited fightback was enough, although to steal the win would have been a very Thanos thing to do. I think I could go a week or two with supporting a comic book villain, if it meant we didn't have to suffer the ignominy of losing to that lot again.

B: Callum Mills, Dane Rampe, Lewis Melican
HB: Jarrad McVeigh, Heath Grundy, Jake Lloyd
C: Harry Cunningham, Josh P. Kennedy, Isaac Heeney
HF: Luke Parker, Sam Reid, Tom Papley
F: Will Hayward, Lance Franklin, Nick Blakey
