Player of the Year - Round 9, 2019

Each round we'll be posting our votes for The Swans Blog's Player of the Year award.

The players will be voted on their performance on the day regardless of previous form. The player with the highest number of votes at the end of the season, wins. Simple.

Round 9 saw the Swans hang on for a second consecutive thrilling win, this time over North Melbourne at Hobart on Saturday night.

The win keeps the Swans perfect record against North Melbourne in Tasmania in tact, winning the 3 games they've played at Blundstone Arena.

Jordan Dawson was immense in defence throughout the game, especially in the last quarter when he took several telling intercept marks.

His ability to get in the right spot when it mattered most was influential in the final moments, but his ability to use the ball and hit a target coming out of defence when the game was on the line was crucial.

Fellow defender Aliir Aliir was absolutely outstanding throughout the night, finishing with an astonishing 12 intercept possessions.

Laughing while rushing two behinds was one of the highlights of the night, to go with his seven one-percenters and awesome defensive acts.

Luke Parker was immense in the midfield, leading the line in Josh Kennedy's absence, while George Hewett absolutely dominated the clinches, finishing with 20 contested possessions.

Tom Papley's 4-goals were the difference in the end, his fourth of the night the Swans only goal in the last quarter, and it was telling, with Sydney winning by just 5-points.
