Teams: Sydney Swans vs Hawthorn Hawks, Round 23, 2018

The Swans have made just one change to their team ahead of their crucial match against Hawthorn on Saturday night at the SCG.

Defender Heath Grundy makes his return to the side in place of Robbie Fox, who was omitted from the side, playing his first game since Round 19.

Sydney Swans coach John Longmire said it was good to have the 253-game veteran back in the side.

“Heath played well in our reserves last week to get himself going again which was good,” Longmire said.

“Obviously he is an experienced player in our defensive half so it is really good to have him back in the team.”

Despite constant speculation of fitness issues surrounding superstar forward Lance Franklin and midfielder Luke Parker, both players maintain their place in the side, having proven their fitness.

“As we expected all week he has been able to get better and better each day so obviously we were going to give him every chance to play,” Longmire said.

“Knowing Lance he is certainly determined to play so at the moment he is tracking OK.”
