Each round we'll be posting our votes for The Swans Blog's Player of the Year award.
The players will be voted on their performance on the day regardless of previous form. The player with the highest number of votes at the end of the season, wins. Simple.
Round 7 saw the Lions finally bread a decade-long drought against the Swans, beating them for the first time since Round 22, 2019.
Brisbane opened the game with an early 28-point lead, but surrendered it late in the second quarter, with the Swans leading by as much as 4 points.
As the players broke for half-time, the skies opened up, turning the match into full-blown wet weather football.
The Lions adjusted better and were far more clinical in the conditions, but couldn't convert from their supreme statistical supremacy.
The Swans were efficient all night with their forward forays, kicking goals from 30 percent of their entries, well above their season average of 21.6 percent.
Tom Papley was superb for the Swans in the forward line, booting 4.3, and perhaps could have made more of his opportunities.
George Hewett was dominant in the clinches, finished with 24 contested possessions, while captain Josh Kennedy proved he's still the Swans No. 1 extractor with 9 clearances and 9 tackles.
