The Swans have made one change ahead of their Round 9 clash against North Melbourne at Blundstone Arena on Saturday night, with young midfielder James Rowbottom recalled to the side.
Rowbottom comes into the side to play his third game of AFL football, after impressing in his previous two outings.
The 19-year-old was unlucky to have been omitted for the Swans' seventh Round clash against Brisbane, but returned to the NEAFL with aplomb, amongst the best against Brisbane and judged best on ground against Sydney University last week.
Coach John Longmire said he was pleased to welcome back the youngster into the side.
“It is absolutely great to have him back in the team, he has been in good form so deserves his chance,” Longmire said.
“He has played a bit of senior footy as a first-year player so it is great to have him back in the team.”
Superstar forward Lance Franklin will not make the trip to Tasmania and remains an outside chance of playing in Round 10.
“He ran today, ran quite well and will be running again on the weekend,” Longmire said.
“We hope he can ramp up his program and can run again on the weekend now.”
Former captain Kieren Jack was omitted from the team, having picked up a head knock in the second quarter against Essendon in Round 8, but played out the game.
